June 19, 1717 Margravate of Azilia granted to Sir Robert Montgomery
June 19, 1721 Hans Kalb, for whom Dekalb County, Georgia is named, is born, Huettendorf, Bavaria. He will later assume the name of a friend from Paris, Jean De Kalb and the title Baron

June 19, 1786 Gen. Nathaniel Greene dies of a stroke at his Mulberry Grove plantation

June 19, 1908 The Atlanta, Birmingham and Atlantic Railroad (AB &A) inaugurates service to Atlanta and is welcomed with a speech by Asa Chandler. It is the last railroad to come into Atlanta. Renamed A. B. & C. in 1927 it merged with the Atlantic Coast Line in 1947.
June 19, 1979 Carlton Gary is arrested in Hapeville for trespassing. He had been found climbing a wall of a motel. He posted bond and disappeared.
