A student pilot attempting a cross-country flight was advised not to continue the flight during a weather briefing but the pilot terminated the conversation. A short time later the pilot requested assistance from Atlanta Center, and made a right hand turn based on their radar assistance. The plane dropped off the radar screen. Bodies and wreckage were scattered over a wide area and examination indicated that the wings and stablators had failed from overload. The pilot had a blood-alcohol level of .092%.
