Gubernatorial candidate Michael Bowers admitted to having a 10-year long extra-marital affair with his secretary, a former waitress at a Playboy Club. At the time of the admission Bowers was considered to be the leading Republican candidate for governor. Anne Davis admitted to "being romantic" with Bowers as recently as six weeks before his announcement. Bowers had refused to identify the woman, who was later identified in an issue of George magazine.
