Actor Laurence Fishburne suffers an identity crisis of sorts. People frequently mistake him for other actors, especially Samuel Jackson and Clarence Williams III.
Born in Augusta, "Fish" (as his friends call him) moved to New York City as a child, where he was raised. Acting since the age of 10, when he was 14 he landed the role of Clean in Apocalypse Now.
He won widespread recognition in a role portraying the struggles of African Americans in the South during World War II, and their ultimate success in the skies as the 332 Fighter Group known as the Tuskegee Airmen.
The actor, however, reached his widest renown as Morpheus, a hacker who has taken on those who have taken over The Matrix.
