  Plane crash on Lavender Mountain kills 9


While flying from Rome to Huntsville, Alabama this Beech 440 slammed into Lavender Mountain northwest of Rome shortly after take-off. The NTSB ruled that the crash was caused by the "captain's decision to initiate visual flight into an area of known mountainous terrain.
