February 20, 1769 John Glynn calls a meeting at the London Tavern to discuss the House of Commons refusal to accept John Wilkes election. He formed the Bill of Rights Society out of this meeting.

July 3, 1769 Governor Wright asks for a leave of absence to return to England to deal with his personal business

September 16, 1769 A group of Georgia merchants (mostly from Savannah) meet at the home of Alexander Creighton and decided to no longer import British goods rather than pay duties on these goods.

November 2, 1769 Governor Wright granted leave of absence to return to England

November 15, 1769 Wright refuses to order elections for four newly established parishes along Georgia's southern coast.
