May 23, 1904 City council okays the purchase of Piedmont Park from the Piedmont Exposition Company. They pay $93,000 for roughly 185 acres.

August 13, 1904 60 acres of land in Cobb County west of Marietta are transferred to the Dan McCook Brigade Association. This is the start of today's Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park

October 9, 1904 Miller County Courthouse (Colquitt, GA) destroyed by fire, apparently set on purpose.

October 11, 1904 The battleship Georgia is launched.
November 4, 1904 Elijah Clarke statue, at the corner of College and Hancock Streets in Athens is dedicated by University of Georgia Chancellor Walter B. Hill. It was moved to its present location on Broad Street in 1918.
